Victron Skylla Control The Skylla Control is the control panel for Victron Energy's Skylla-TG battery chargers. The panel displays the system status and allows the charger's charging current to be adjusted. The panel is mounted in a switch panel, ensuring the controls are located in a logical position rather than near the charger itself. Applications At the dock, the shore power connection is often the weakest link: a heavy-duty battery charger draws more power at full capacity than the fuse can handle. With this panel, you limit the charger's output current and, consequently, the AC current drawn — without anyone having to go into the engine room. Direct reading of the system status is included immediately. * Yachts and commercial vessels with limited shore power capacity * Installations where the Skylla-TG charger is not located in an accessible spot * Switch panels where the battery charger is operated from the bridge or helm * Varying berths with varying shore power fuses Limiting charging current By limiting the maximum output current of the battery charger, the AC current drawn by the charger is also limited. This prevents the shore power fuse from tripping when the available connection is smaller than the charger is dimensioned for. Reading system status The panel displays the current status of the connected charger, making it visible what the system is doing without having to access the charger itself. Mounting The panel is integrated into a switch panel.
