It is not compatible with the older Lithium Battery Smart series; that series requires a BMS from that generation. Therefore, when replacing or expanding, always check which battery generation is in the system. When to use smallBMS NG and when to use VE.Bus BMS NG The smallBMS NG does not have a VE.Bus interface and is therefore not compatible with MultiPlus and Quattro inverter/chargers. If a VE.Bus inverter/charger is present in the system, choose the VE.Bus BMS NG. For larger banks with a contactor acting as the system main switch, the Lynx Smart BMS NG is the appropriate choice. No separate battery monitor is required. The BMS receives battery voltage, current, charge status, and individual cell data directly from the NG batteries, which have an integrated shunt for this purpose. This eliminates a SmartShunt in the materials list and a measurement point in the installation.
