Victron Smart BMS 12/200 Victron Smart BMS 12/200 Applications For motorhomes, vans, and boats switching to lithium and wishing to continue using the existing alternator. The module protects the alternator against overload and simultaneously replaces the separate relay, isolator, and fuse holder. Alternator Protection A lithium battery draws so much current that a standard alternator overheats. The input current on the alternator and starter battery ports is electronically limited to approximately 90 percent of the fuse rating, ensuring the alternator stays within its limits. Current Ratings * Alternator port up to 100 A charging current, with a 125 A fuse * System+ port up to 200 A charging and discharging * Peak discharge 400 A * Charging starts from an input voltage above 13 V * Current flows in only one direction, from alternator to battery Cell Monitoring and Shutdown The BMS monitors each individual cell and shuts off charging sources or DC consumers in case of undervoltage, overvoltage, or overtemperature. In addition to load and tripping, there is a pre-alarm of up to 1 A and a connection for remote on/off. Built-in Bluetooth. Setup and data retrieval are done wirelessly using VictronConnect on a smartphone, tablet, or laptop, including Instant Readout. A dongle is not required.
