Victron SmartSolar MPPT 250/85-Tr VE.Can (12/24/48V) For larger solar power installations on yachts, RVs, machinery, and off-grid homes where PV strings are connected via screw terminals. Suitable for high string voltages up to 250 V, allowing you to use thinner cable over long runs. Ultra-fast MPPT tracking The charge controller determines the maximum power point up to one hundred times faster than a conventional controller. In cloudy conditions, where light intensity changes constantly, this yields up to 30% more output compared to PWM charge controllers. Advanced shade detection In partial shading, multiple power points can occur on the power curve. The algorithm recognizes this and always aims for the absolute maximum, rather than getting stuck at a local maximum. Screw terminals for PV and battery The Tr version features 35 mm² / AWG2 screw terminals for both the PV side and the battery side. This simplifies the connection of custom cable assemblies and combined strings via a string cabinet. Bluetooth and VictronConnect Bluetooth is built-in; a dongle is not required. Using the VictronConnect app on your smartphone or tablet, you configure the charging algorithm, read current and historical yield data, and update the firmware.
