Victron 55Wp Mono Compact solar panel for small 12V installations: maintenance charging of starter and consumer batteries in vessels, vehicles, and maintenance vehicles, and power supply for industrial measurement and monitoring setups and infrastructure applications. The 715 x 445 mm dimensions fit on limited roof surfaces and hatches, with one panel or multiple panels in series on an MPPT. Battery voltage With a Voc of 24.8V, the panel is suitable for 12V battery banks, always via an MPPT charge controller. For a 24V battery bank, two or more panels are connected in series. The Vmpp of 21.0V is above the charging voltage of a 12V battery; the MPPT converts the voltage difference into charging current. Power Nominal power 55Wp with a tolerance of ±3%, at a Vmpp of 21.0V and an Impp of 2.63A. The Voc is 24.8V and the Isc is 2.79A. The power decreases by 0.45% per °C of cell temperature, the Voc by 0.35% per °C; space for cooling behind the panel maintains the yield. Connectable: In series, the voltages add up; in parallel, the currents. Victron prescribes multiplying Voc and Isc by a factor of 1.25 when dimensioning the controller, fuses, and cables. The maximum system voltage is 1000V and the maximum fuse per string is 10A. Construction: 36 monocrystalline cells behind tempered glass with high light transmission, in an anodized aluminium frame. Waterproof junction box (PV-LH0801) with bypass diodes. Resistant to a surface load of 200 kg/m² and hail of 7.53 g at 23 m/s. Mounting: Fixing via the pre-drilled holes in the frame, normally at four symmetrical points; Under heavy wind or snow loads, all mounting holes must be used. Additional holes in the frame or glass are not permitted, nor are they allowed running across the panel. For roof mounting, Victron specifies a minimum air gap of 10 cm, venting of the junction box downwards, a grounded frame, and 4mm² cable per panel. Yes, via an MPPT charge controller. The Vmpp of 21.0V is above the battery charging voltage; the controller converts the difference into charging current. How many panels can I connect in series to an MPPT with a 75V PV input? Two. With the factor of 1.25 prescribed by Victron, the Voc per panel is 31V; two panels provide 62V, three panels 93V. May I combine this panel with panels of a different type? No. Victron recommends not using panels with different configurations in the same system. How do I ground the frame? With a ground clamp on a stainless steel M3 or M5 mounting, tightened to 0.8Nm (M3) or 1.5Nm (M5).
