Victron Transfer Switch 10kVA/230V (automatic transfer switch) In installations where shore power, a generator, and an inverter alternate, and where heavy loads are connected, one output must always maintain voltage. This transfer switch connects two AC sources to a single distribution board at a nominal current of 40 A, thereby handling larger air conditioning systems and engine loads. Two inputs, one output Input 1 is the priority source, typically shore power or a generator. Input 2 is the alternative source, usually an inverter. As long as input 1 is available, it is routed to the output; if it fails, input 2 takes over. Ample margin for engine load The maximum engine power is 8 kW for an air conditioner. The nominal current is 40 A on both inputs and on the output, well over double that of the 5kVA version. Adjustable delay Upon return of input 1, switching back occurs after approximately 10 seconds. This delay is adjustable, allowing a generator to stabilize before the load is taken over. The switching time is 10 to 20 ms for closing and 5 to 20 ms for opening. Auxiliary contact An auxiliary contact of 200-240 Vac and 20 A at cos phi = 1 is available for signaling or for controlling, for example, a start signal. Housing and environment The housing in RAL 7035 has protection degree IP54 and is suitable for an ambient temperature of -5 °C to +60 °C at a humidity of up to 95 %. The self-consumption is 6 VA on input 1 and 0 VA on input 2.
