Victron Transfer Switch 5kVA/230V (automatic transfer switch) Where shore power, a generator, and an inverter alternate, one output must always maintain voltage. This transfer switch connects two AC sources to a single distribution board and automatically switches to the available source, even with heavier consumers such as a washing machine, a water heater, or air conditioning. Two inputs, one output Input 1 is the priority source, usually shore power or a generator. Input 2 is the alternative source, usually an inverter. As long as input 1 is available, it is switched to the output; if it fails, input 2 takes over. Suitable for heavy loads Unlike an ultra-fast transfer switch for sensitive electronics, this version is designed to withstand the inrush currents of motor loads. The maximum motor power is 1.3 kW for air conditioning. The nominal current is 20 A on both inputs and on the output. Adjustable delay Upon return of input 1, switching occurs after approximately 10 seconds. This delay is adjustable, allowing the generator to stabilize before taking over the load. The switching time is 10 to 20 ms for closing and 5 to 20 ms for opening. Auxiliary contact An auxiliary contact of 200-240 Vac and 20 A at cos phi = 1 is available for signaling or for controlling, for example, a start signal. Housing and environment The housing in RAL 7035 has protection degree IP54 and is suitable for an ambient temperature of -5 °C to +60 °C at a humidity of up to 95%. The self-consumption is 6 VA on input 1 and 0 VA on input 2.
