Experience unprecedented power and silence with the WaterWorld Pod 18.0

The WaterWorld Pod 18.0 (19.8 kW input) is the absolute powerhouse in our electric pod motor range. This system takes electric boating to a whole new level. The motor combines raw power with the refined silence you've come to expect from WaterWorld. Because this pod is mounted directly beneath the hull, the entire interior of your boat remains available for interior design or storage. There's no need for large engine boxes or long propeller shafts running through the boat. From the outside, you'll see only a streamlined unit, while inside you'll enjoy peace and quiet.

You have complete freedom in the configuration. We supply the Pod 18.0 in a fixed setup for course stability or in a steerable variant for maximum maneuverability. Additionally, it is possible to combine the pod with a rudder and pivot (see image), creating an integrated steering and propulsion solution that perfectly matches your specific vessel.

About WaterWorld Electronics

Enjoy electric boating with our inboard electric motors from WaterWorld. With these electric motors, you can cruise 100% electric or hybrid in complete peace and quiet. Suitable for motorboats and sailboats up to 10 meters in length or 7.5 tons. The WaterWorld motor is so efficient that it produces very little heat. Therefore, water cooling is not required! This simplifies installation, eliminates the risk of blockages, and keeps maintenance to a minimum. Once on the water, another major advantage becomes apparent: you can sail your boat for even longer. WaterWorld Electronics is a Dutch manufacturer of electric propulsion systems for water sports. The company is based in Oldemarkt, Overijssel, and develops and produces all motors, controllers, and battery systems entirely in-house, in the Netherlands. No imported basic components assembled afterwards: WaterWorld Engineering is responsible for the design and production from start to finish. The motors are brushless permanent-magnet synchronous motors, a type known for its high efficiency, low heat production, and quiet operation. The efficiency of a WaterWorld motor exceeds 85 percent. By comparison, a conventional diesel engine typically achieves 25 to 30 percent. You will notice this difference not only on your energy bill but also while boating: no heat emissions, no odor, and a noise level of approximately 45 dB, comparable to a normal conversational tone. All WaterWorld components communicate seamlessly with each other via a CAN data bus connection. The motor, controller, batteries, display, and throttle are designed as a single integrated system. This makes installation easier and operation more intuitive than systems assembled from separate parts from different brands.

Suitable for intensive professional use

The WaterWorld systems are also used in charter ships, tour boats, and work boats. The robust motors, which can also continuously deliver maximum power, make this possible. The same applies to the batteries, which can withstand up to 3,000 cycles while retaining virtually all of their energy.

WaterWorld accessories

A complete WaterWorld system consists of more than just the motor and battery. The accessories have been specifically developed for and by WaterWorld Electronics and connect seamlessly to the CAN bus system. WW-2212B Color Display The touchscreen color display shows real-time engine power, RPM, remaining range, battery voltage, and throttle position. The display is compact, water-resistant, and easy to read even in bright sunlight. Mounting is flexible thanks to the short mounting depth. Side-mounted throttle The WaterWorld throttle is ergonomically designed for mounting on the side of a helm or console. The position of the lever translates directly into precise speed control via the CAN connection, without delay or jerks. WW-2565 NMEA Connect module With the NMEA Connect module, you connect the WaterWorld system to your existing navigation electronics. Data on power, battery charge, and range are then available on a chartplotter or multifunction display. Flexible coupling 140 Nm For a low-vibration connection between the WaterWorld inboard engine and the propeller shaft, Robust-MT also supplies the corresponding flexible coupling with a maximum torque of 140 Nm.

A completely integrated system

All WaterWorld components (engine, controller, batteries, display, and throttle) work seamlessly together via a CAN data connection. You always have the necessary information on your display about the condition of the engine and batteries, and the remaining range. And when you use the complete system, you also get a 3-year warranty; peace of mind.

Hybrid boating with WaterWorld

Not everyone can or wants to go fully electric immediately. For those who wish to switch but want to retain their existing diesel engine as a backup, WaterWorld Electronics offers hybrid versions of all inboard models: the 4.0h, 10.0h, and 20.0h. In a parallel hybrid configuration, the electric WaterWorld motor works in conjunction with the existing diesel engine via a pulley system. You choose when to sail electrically and when to engage the diesel. In practice, this means: electric through the city center or nature reserve, and diesel on open water when the distance requires it. WaterWorld supplies standard hybrid kits compatible with Vetus diesel engines of 27, 33, and 42 hp. For saildrive installations, specific retrofit kits are available that, in many cases, enable the switch from diesel propulsion to a hybrid system within a single working day. Would you like to know if your current engine is eligible for a hybrid conversion? Please contact our workshop. We will assess the technical feasibility with you and prepare a customized quote.

Why WaterWorld Electronics?

One integrated system The motor, controller, batteries, display, and throttle were designed by the same engineers to work together. That sounds like a detail, but you notice it every day: the system starts immediately, responds predictably, and always provides a complete picture of what is going on via the display. Air-cooled, minimal maintenance Due to the air-cooled design, the entire water cooling system required by a diesel engine is eliminated: no impeller, no water pump, no cooling hoses. The number of moving parts is small, and maintenance is correspondingly low. Winterizing, as with an internal combustion engine, is not necessary. 45 dB: almost silence The noise level of a WaterWorld motor on board is approximately 45 dB. That is comparable to a conversation at normal volume. Anyone who has ever experienced that on the water will not want to take a step back. 3-year warranty on complete systems When purchasing a complete WaterWorld system (motor, batteries, charger, and DC distribution) via Robust-MT and having it installed in our workshop, a 3-year warranty period applies. A condition is that the system is inspected annually by our workshop. We would be happy to schedule that appointment for you.
