MultiPlus 24/1600/40-16 Compact
The MultiPlus C 24/1600/40 combines a powerful 1600 VA (1300 Watt) true sine wave inverter, an advanced 40-ampere battery charger with adaptive charge technology, and a high-speed AC transfer switch in a single, compact metal enclosure. This MultiPlus comes with 1.5-meter, 25mm² battery cables for battery connection. All MultiPlus models in this series are equipped with PowerControl and PowerAssist functionality. All models are also suitable for three-phase and parallel operation. This model has a maximum transfer current of 16A. Victron Energy inverter/chargers are designed for professional use. They are suitable for a wide range of devices with both high and low starting currents. The MultiPlus is a multifunctional energy system with a sine wave inverter, battery charger, and AC transfer switch. Batteries are safely charged, even when the power supply is poor. Proven reliability The full-bridge plus toroidal transformer topology has proven itself very reliable over many years. The inverter is short-circuit proof and protects against overheating, regardless of whether this occurs due to overload or high ambient temperatures. PowerControl – Maximize use of limited generator, shore-side, or grid power The Digital Multi Control panel allows you to set a maximum generator or shore-side current. The MultiPlus then takes other power consumers into account and uses only the surplus power for charging, preventing the generator or shore connection from becoming overloaded. PowerAssist – Do more with your generator or shore-side power Where peak power is often only needed for a short time, the MultiPlus ensures that insufficient shore-side or generator power is immediately supplemented with power from the battery. When the load decreases, the reserve power is used to recharge the battery. High starting power Required to start loads with high inrush current, such as voltage converters for LED lights, halogen lights, or power tools. Automatic and uninterruptible switching (UPS function) In the event of a power failure or if the shore power supply or generator is interrupted, the inverter in the Multi is automatically activated to supply power to the connected loads. This happens so quickly (less than 20 milliseconds) that computers and other electronic equipment can continue to operate without disruption. Two AC outputs (the second output is only available on models of 3 kVA and above) The main output has uninterruptible functionality. The second auxiliary output switches off if no external AC source is available, and therefore only becomes active when AC voltage is present at the AC input of the MultiPlus. Heavy loads that must not discharge the battery, such as a water heater, can be connected to this output. Virtually unlimited power thanks to parallel connection Up to six Multis can be connected in parallel to achieve higher power output. Three-phase or single-phase power supply is also possible. The datasheets indicate which models have these options and which do not. Three-phase connection In addition to parallel connection, three units of the same model can be configured for three-phase output. But that's not all: up to 6 sets of three units can be connected in parallel for an inverter power of 75 kW / 90 kVA and a charging capacity of more than 2000A. Search Mode: When 'search mode' is enabled, the inverter's no-load current consumption is reduced by approximately 70%. 'Search mode' means that the Multi switches off when there is no load or when the load is very low. The Multi will switch on briefly every 2 seconds. If the output current exceeds a set level, the inverter continues to operate. If not, the inverter switches off again. AES (Automatic Economy Switch): Instead of 'search mode', the AES mode can also be selected. When this setting is enabled, the no-load and low-load current consumption is reduced by approximately 20% by slightly 'narrowing' the sine wave voltage. The AES mode is not adjustable with DIP switches and can only be used in a stand-alone configuration. Programmable relay The programmable relay is set as an alarm relay by default, meaning that the relay de-energizes in the event of an alarm or pre-alarm (inverter almost too hot, input ripple voltage almost too high, battery voltage almost too low). Solar energy: always AC power available – even during a grid failure The MultiPlus can be used in both off-grid and grid-tied PV and other alternative energy systems. Software to detect grid power losses is available. Local or remote monitoring and control – optional Monitor and control your MultiPlus system locally (LAN) or remotely via the internet from anywhere in the world with the free VRM app and the free VRM portal website. Access is possible for multiple operating systems via a phone, tablet, laptop, or PC. Multiple options are available: Battery Monitor (BMV), Multi Control Panel, Color Control GX and other GX communication devices, VE.Bus Smart Dongle for smartphone or tablet (Bluetooth Smart) and with an interface cable for laptop or PC (USB or RS232). The level of control is endless, from adjusting the MultiPlus to setting a Geofence for rental vehicles and more. To get an impression of the VRM (Victron Remote Management) website, visit Victron Remote Management (https://vrm.victronenergy.com) and click the 'Try Our Demo' button. Victron Remote Management (VRM) is a free service from Victron Energy for remotely monitoring electrical equipment anywhere in the world. Local or remote configuration > If settings need to be changed in a stand-alone application, this can be done within minutes via a DIP-switch setting procedure. > Parallel and three-phase applications can be configured using VE.Bus Quick Configure software and VE.Bus System Configurator. > Autonomous, grid-interactive and self-consumption applications, with inverters and/or MPPT solar chargers, can be configured with assistants (dedicated software for specific applications). > When connected to the Ethernet, systems with a Color Control GX and other GX communication devices can be accessed and settings can be changed. Compact models 800VA – 5000VA The MultiPlus C models are available in 800VA, 1200VA, 1600VA, 3000VA in 12V and 24V voltages, and 3000VA, 5000VA in 48V.
